ABOUT THE USCG CAPTAIN'S LICENSE

Confident Captain/Ocean Pros is the ONLY Captain's License school that operates full-time in Rhode Island! We offer a full compliment of USCG Captain's courses including: OUPV (Six-Pak), Master's license from 25 to 200 GT, and Able-Seaman Certification. In order to become an excellent captain, you not only need plenty of experience on the water, but also an accomplished instructor for your Captain's Course.

At Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, all of our instructors are seasoned professional mariners with vast experience on all types of vessels. Each instructor makes sure that class time consists of lecture, video, and hands on training such as marlinspike skills and navigation practice to ensure that mariners with different learning styles easily absorb the necessary material.

Our staff and instructors will be with you EVERY step of the way making sure that you get the most out of the course and are on a path towards success!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Confident Captain/Ocean Pros Captain's courses are conducted to high standards and are not for the faint of heart. The student that simply wants to "get his/her ticket" will not achieve a high level of success at Confident Captain/Ocean Pros. The student that wants to learn to be the best Captain he/she can be while becoming an expert on topics such as: Rules of the Road, Navigation, Safety, and Seamanship will find the courses at Confident Captain/Ocean Pros meet and exceed his/her expectations.

THE CLASSROOM

The staff at Confident Captain/Ocean Pros believes in quality over quantity in all of our Captain's courses. Consequently we maintain small class sizes with extensive one on one interaction between students and instructors. Captains from all geographic areas and all walks of life pass through the doors at Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, but all of our graduates have benefited greatly from the experience, professionalism, and knowledge possessed by
our instructors.

COURSE SCHEDULE

Confident Captain/Ocean Pros offers USCG approved Captains courses in both the day and evening to accommodate all mariners' schedules. Companies and organizations with numerous Captains' candidates can schedule private training classes to suit their needs.
