CAPTAINS LICENSE COURSES
Confident
Captain/Ocean Pros is the ONLY Captain's License school that operates
full-time in Rhode Island! We offer a full compliment of USCG Captain's
courses including: OUPV (Six-Pak), Master's license from 25 to 200
GT, and Able-Seaman Certification. In order to become an excellent
captain, you not only need plenty of experience on the water, but
also an
accomplished instructor for your Captain's Course. At Confident
Captain/Ocean Pros, all of our instructors are seasoned professional
mariners with vast experience on all types of vessels. Each instructor
makes sure that class time consists of lecture, video, and hands
on training such as marlinspike skills and navigation practice to
ensure that mariners with different learning styles easily absorb
the necessary material. Our staff and instructors will be with you
EVERY step of the way making sure that you get the most
out of the course and are on a path towards success!

YACHTMASTER CERTIFICATION
Confident Captain/Ocean Pros is one of only two facilities in the
United States that offers the elite Yachtmaster Offshore Sail Certification.
This certification is essential to those in the international yachting
community who are looking for a certification that is recognized
worldwide. If you are looking for a certification that will allow
you to captain vessels of up to 200 tons and is recognized by over
20 countries, than this is the course for you! Although many students
choose to have their Yachtmaster Certification commercially endorsed,
this course is also for the accomplished recreational boater who
is looking to improve his/her skills and have those skills recognized
by the Royal Yachting Association, the UK based organization that
oversees the Yachtmaster Program.

STCW-95
CERTIFICATION
There is no better way to learn safety skills than to practice them
side by side with a team of accomplished instructors! During our
5-day course, you will learn firefighting, personal survival, personal
safety and social responsibility, and first aid/CPR theory and then
practice these skills in various environments. Get ready to don
full fire-fighting gear and practice putting out fires; quickly
change into a survival suit, deploy a liferaft, and enter the raft
which will be floating in a pool simulating an abandon ship situation;
fine tune your first aid and CPR skills to ensure that you will
be prepared in an emergency situation; all while learning how to
work effectively, efficiently, and respectively in a team environment!
This course is instructed in compliance with STCW-95 Code A; VI/1-2
and provides a variety of practical and theoretical lessons fundamental
to onboard safety.
